Virus

Having been through yet another media scare over some virus we need to stop and think.  How often are we likely to be exposed to a virus, and so what?

Well there are lots more viruses out there than just get into the media headlines when they haven’t got anything positive to tell us. Often the media is desperate for a story and they want to keep us hyped up.

However we must be careful all the time, not just when the media tells us.

Great Source of information is The IT Solution For you website

There are thousands of active viruses out there and have been for many years. Fortunately we don’t encounter them very often but we still need to be well protected from them. Make sure you have a reputable virus protection software package and that you update it regularly. Mostly this can be done with downloads for free in the first 12 months then for a nominal fee.

It is reasonable to expect a virus to terrify us, they can create a lot of problems. Worst-case scenario is that you lose all data and programmes and need to start all over again. A scary thought, and expensive.

We are a mobile business and if you need our services in your area please call us to see when we will be in your area.

Other than having a good virus checker the strategies we employ with using the internet can also make a huge difference. Don’t just click on all advertising, freebies, or go to odd sites. With Email do not open any attachment or Email unless you know the source is likely to be clean and reliable. If in doubt run the virus checker over the file, or better still delete it before opening it. Then make sure  it is also deleted from your trash folder so it is gone forever.
